Introducing the world First 1-Terabyte SD card.

THE WORLD'S FIRST 1 TERABYTE SD CARD

Even though it's called an SDXC card, people still call it an SD card.

At this century, having a 1Terabyte SD card, is like having an unlimited SD card.

For those that doesn't understand the storage unit, 1 terabyte is simply equivalent or equal to 1000 gigabyte  (GB),
Which is also equivalent to 10,000 megabyte (MB).

This amazing storage device was launched at the CES 2019, taking place at Las Vegas in the United States.

The meaning of CES is simply "Consumer Electronics Show".

It is a yearly event, where Manufacturer and programmers tends to show off their tech Gadgets and Projects to members of the tech community, all-over the world.
So the world's first 1 terabyte was premiered in the CES 2019.

Personally, I thought the SanDisk company were going to be the first to come out with this SD card, but unfortunately, Longsys who owns Lexar, surprised the world.

But Previously there has been an external Hard Drive for Desktop and Laptop Computers which the storage capacity is also up to 1 terabyte, it is used for backup, Incase of data loss in a PC.

But the invention of this SD card, is Legendary, I mean you can have every data on your computer on a memory card chip, isn't this marvellous?

But you won't be smiling when the chip goes missing, as a result of its little size.

So basically this SD card was created for Photographers and Videographers.

Flaws of the World's first 1 terabyte SD Card.

Even as 8k Video quality gradually coming into place, I am sure in a decade time, this SD card is going to be very useful.

But the downside of this Enormous SD card, is the time it will consume in Loading in a camera or device.

The SD card has a load time of 96MB/s, Which will take about 3 hours to completely load on a device.

But as other companies would get involved in the competition, I am pretty sure they would work on the flaw of the SD card, thereby increasing the load time.

PRICE

In the united States, this SD card will cost just $500,
Which is about N180,000 in Nigeria Naira Currency.

This Price is quite large for an SD card, but would you spend N180,000 for an SD card?
